Default is it possible to weld the block

today i went to start up the car and the starter sounded like it had fallen off i checked it out and turned out that the mounting hole that holds the long bolt on the starter broke off from the block, whick inturn broke the hole on the starter housing that the short bolt is passed trough. is there any way that small piece of block can be welded back on or will i need a new block.

Mine done the exact same thing and it tig welded it back about 6mouths ago and i upgraded to the truck starter witch uses 2 long bolts instead of the short bolt on the inside ,witch will keep from braking off the small inside lug on the starter.I beleave the 03 truck starter is what i used.
