should i or should i not weld header collector...

Default should i or should i not weld header collector...

i've had an exhaust leak for a bit now, its right where the header collector meets the ory. i have band claps but it still leaks... should i weld the collector to the ORY??

have a shop flange it for you. then it wont leak, but it will still come apart

if you don't want to have it flanged, you could try a cheap fix with the band clamp. Take aluminum foil, wrap the pipe connection and then re-install the band clamp...I have seen this fix several leaks of this nature.

Red RTV under the band clamps will take care of it.

ill try the rtv first ..seems like a cheap easy fix...

What style band clamps do you have now? I've had great luck on a couple cars with Walker stainless band clamps. Try the lap-joint style and I'm sure you'll be okay unless the pipes have already been deformed.
