Default Volant Intake on WS6 - Fitment?

how well does the Volant intake steal around the WS6 hood?

I was looking to get one of these to go with my new Superhawk hood.

I am wanting a volant intake to go under my SLP HO hood. I know they are similar, but I don't know how similar they are. Anybody know if the Volant would fit on an SLP hood?

The search feature is your friend. The Volant was designed to work with a non-ram air hood. It will not "completely" seal against a WS6 hood. If you do a chewing gum test (little round ***** along the stock gasket) you'll find that some of the ***** won't stick to the underside of the hood. Particularly around the top corners of the box. This isn't a big deal though 'cause it's easy to fix. Go to Home Depot or Lowe's and find a 6' length of copper pipe foam insulation (@ $3). It comes in a dark gray color and can easily be cut to fit the outter edge of the box. If you hunt around, there are a couple threads on here that have pics of my set up. I have the red '00 WS6.

You guys have any issues with Radiator support?

Mine doesn't seem to hold it too well (I've zip tied it just in case, but that's too ghetto for me).

i dynoed 11 whp more than my SLP lid setup with a home made Volant like setup. The initial dyno was done on a different day so that could explain the difference in power. Did i feel it when it was installed? No, these cars produce enough tq and power that it takes dramatic power increases to feel much in the seat of the pants.. Does it look cool as ****, hell yeah.

I did the home depot mod to get it to seal to my hood as well. +1 on the bling factor.
