Default 2 1/2" or 3" cut out...not sure

i got a 2001 camaro ss, stock exhaust. i'm not sure whether to order a 2 1/2" or 3" cut out. i got under the car today and measured the circumference and did a simple calculation and discovered that the pipe has a 2.7" diameter. RIGHT IN BETWEEN 2 1/2" and 3"!!! any help would be appreciated.

Most ppl get a 3". You also have to remember that the ID of the cutout is going to be less than 3" as well.

I have a 3" QTP cutout, no problems with ground clearance.
