Ordered some QTP's
Well I ordered some QTP's yesterday. I sold my Pacesetters last week and decided to go stainless with the exhaust. I was researching and researching between QTP/ARH/Kooks and XS and I decided on QTP regardless of some recent issues some of the board members have been having with them. I called up Mike from WS6Store and talked to him for a little while. He called QTP directly to ask them what was going on and the owner of QTP said that everything is taken care of and that everything they are shipping out right now is just the same as it has always been. So I went for them.
He said that I could return them if they weren't what I was expecting so I figure I'll take the chance. At one time QTP was the top of the line option for Stainless it seems like and they've always made awesome power so I decided to go with them. Plus they are hands down the best looking header of the bunch being polished and all. I'll post up some pics when I get them this Friday and hopefully they'll be perfectly fine!

You will love them. Just installed a pair on my 2000 T/A yesterday, and they slide right in.
If you do it on jack stands make sure your car is at least 22" above the ground!
Also if you go with a Y-pipe go with QTP ORY, installed that also today, had no problems, wonderful fit!
Goodluck!

I love them on my car, so much that I ceramic coated them to preserve the color and look!
As for performance, I gained 43HP from QTP + 2.5 inch true duals + cats + x-pipe + over the axle + mufflers. I have to say they are definite performers.

Now you just need to get the GMMG exhaust to go with the headers.
Here is a clip of mine.

Thats very very impressive! Were thoes your only mods?

I have before and after dyno sheets and track runs.
Before 325 ft/lb 306HP
After 359ft/lb 349HP
Before 13.8@102mph
After 13.1@109mph
those were done on REALLY hot days, hovering in the 90's with terrible traction, 2.3-2.4 60 ft's, the car has the power to do better, but I couldn't address the traction issue till this year. Cam only made the traction issues more obvious, nothing like doing a 13.1 in which you spend 1st spinning, chirp 2nd HARD and spin a bit and chirp 3rd just as hard. With 315 Nitto 555R on the back no less....
Prior to the other dyno I had a PP throttle body, LS6 intake and just installed the LS7 clutch.
The after exhaust was still missing the underpulley so with full bolt ons I could have gotten close to 370HP.
I have a TR224 cam now for the sig numbers, while the peaks are only slightly higher, the torque curve is MUCH different.
Pre full exhaust, torque curve was relatively flat from 2500-5000 it hung around 315ft/lb and peaked slowly to 325 by 4000rpm.
Prior to the cam, I had a torque curve that hung around 330ft/lb after 2500rpm, gradually climbed to 340ft/lb until about 3700rpm where it SPIKED to 359ft/lb and held it from 4000rpm to 5000rpm, then a gradual drop in torque until 6000rpm but even at 6300rpm it still had 330 ft/lb.
The TR224 hangs around 360ft/lb until 4000 then peaks to 373 around 4500rpm and then by 6500 still has about 340ft/lb.

On The Tree
please dont get the GMMG catback. please. nothing against GMMG, everything against the sound that catback makes. to each his own of course, and that setup sounds mean at WOT, but more like a dumptruck at any other throttle openings.. or.. maybe like your LS1 is running through a kazoo that kids blow at birthday parties

Do a custom setup. Be it y or true duals, you can get it to fit better in my opinion. I found a good shop that does custom stainless steel about an hour from me, just takes a bit of hunting to find one of these good shops. Don't go to the regular chain shops as they quote prices way too high at times or say its impossible.

IMO i would not look at QTPs Catted Y-Pipe.
See if KOOKS can make you one, or by chance they might have one that fits.
The only Y-pipe that i would get from QTP is there ORY, my fit like a charm!
