Arrow F.A.S.T. Intake.... Overpriced?

whether or not one intake is better or not, bad or good, blah blah blah...

in the end, the F.A.S.T. stuff is just WAYYYYYYYY overpriced... in my book they are way too proud of their product and as far as i'm concerned, until the price goes down a good 25%-30% they can keep their intake. I can buy a running Geo Metro for under the price of their intake! That's a friggin car! I hope that new Weiand intake shows some good numbers at a decent price. Then maybe they guys at F.A.S.T. will wake up and realize that a piece of plastic doesn't cost close to 1k!!! They can blame the price on tooling, testing, this and that all they want... in the end we all know it's a bunch of B.S. and just more reasons to make another buck off of the little guy...

I just got the 92/92 combo for a 1000. It wasn't cheap but for the combo it was a hell of a lot cheaper than the 90/90 combo and thats why I jumped on it.

I voted over-priced as well compared to other intake manifolds out for other cars as well....it's all supply and demand though and it's all relative to market also...there's so many factors that come into place on specific products it's rediculous and every place that sells that manifold has to make money somewhere along the way...it's what keeps the ball rolling and the price rediculously high...

I just ordered one from TSP I don't think 1000 is bad for the intake and TB but that's just me... I wish the warrior was out I would prob go with one of those but I can't wait on an intake that will be made sometime this year....

I've got a ported FAST and happy with it. But I agree its alittle overpriced. If I were to do it all over again I would grab a ported LS2 intake and 90mm tb and call it good.

If you've got a superior product that no one can touch then you can charge what you want...

Maybe when we see an intake that can compete with it then it'll put FASTs pricing into check..

FAST is a product of Comp. The development is gonna be the majority of the cost on those pieces. Comp Cams makes enough revenue to charge as little or as much as they please. It is gonna be hard to find a cheaper intake that has had enough R&D to prove it is even a real contender.

FWIW: I got mine used and it was about 400$ off the normal. Hardly used.

I agree it's overpriced also. The one thing that gets me is that people pay that much for it. For around 850 dollars I purchased a Nitro Dave's complete Nitrous kit that would add on 75 - 150 HP.

I think at 1050 for an intake and Tb is not that bad. I have spent money alot worse ways that is for sure. It is a mod that you do if you are looking for every single HP. I have a H/C car and wanted more so I still had the stock tb so the money was well spent. But that is just a matter of opinion.

Leave your bottle open for a month and move your WOT switch to mid throttle. When your bottle runs out immediately change a full 900psi one in. Then see how ridiculous an intake costs.. Nitrous can't even really be compared to anything other than a major power adder such as a turbo or supercharger.

I am sure we would all love to have that power, but that was not the point I was making. Most places charge $1.99-2.50 per pound of nitrous. Go ahead and add that up + infinity cause it is something that is never finished being paid for. You run out of nitrous....I haven't seen anyone run out of intake yet.

I think people bitch too much about price, if you want the go, you need the dough. Go get a 2nd job.

It's a superior product, no one out there can really touch it, heck the only competition out there is with themselves.

Due to future races I cannot say wether ive bought one, but lets just say, I have laid out the dough....

On a side note- I am happy some people cannot afford it, or dont want to pay for it, that means I have an edge in a race over the other driver, all else being equal.
