Default should i Cat or not

I just returned my QTP's i got recently (too big of gap in the primary-merge). I dont have time to install headers, have them leak, and have to remove/ install another set. Screw that. Im getting kooks and a magnaflow cat back. its a week end car that my girlfriend and i cruise around in so i dont want anything that will give us a head ache. wasnt sure if i should get the ORY or catted. dont get me wrong i want it to sound nice but no droning effect in the car while cruising.

thanks,
corey

just depends on your preference . if you are looking for power ory . if you want a quiet , clean sounding ride go with the cat . i dont think you will loose much power . with that said , considering your setup the cat sounds good. good luck with it man .

It depends on how much you can stand the smell of a non-catted car. Por ejemplo, I can leave my truck running (it is bone stock) in the garage and I don't smell a thing. I start my Camaro (no cats), and I immediately smell the strong aroma of gas, and it is a very powerful smell. Pull out of the garage, and it is fine...confined areas with my car kinda stink. The tune is spot on, and I monitor it with a permanently installed wideband O2 sensor...the gas smell is there no matter what, and you have to get used to it. Sometimes I wish I had cats, but in the end, I'd always wonder if they were clogged.

I'll end up getting a new center section fabbed up for my exhaust with cats for inspection purposes should the need arise...but my poison is a non-catted car.

Some cat backs are very raspy without cats. That is one thing to consider if you're getting an ory.

Gmmg and LM1 are a few examples that can get raspy without cats.
