TA all the way. I mean,,,come on,,its a TA!

Motortrend article here..

On the dragstrip, our Trans Am ripped 0-60 mph in 5.0 seconds and cleaned up the quarter mile in 13.5 seconds at 107.4 mph. (Funny how it beat the same-engined, similarly weighted Camaro SS by 0.2 second and 1.8 mph.) In handling, it mercilessly matches its Bow-Tie relative by pulling 0.84 g on the skidpad and zipping through the slalom at 64.6 mph. Mash the brake pedal to the floor, and the large 11.9-inch front and 12-inch rear vented disc brakes bring the Pontiac to a halt in 121 feet (11 better than the Camaro). For purists, these acceleration stats also beat virtually every Pontiac musclecar, including the legendary '69 GTO Judge with its 370-gross-horsepower 400-cubic-inch V-8. And in handling and braking, it wouldn't even be a contest.

heres the rest of the article. I know, you cant beleive everything you read,,,but come on,,,its a TA!!!

Camaro's are the fastest! Specifically the pewter ones. Beware the "pewter package".

I think a WS6 would run a better time then an SS because the WS6 has the funtional Ram Air and the SS dosent. When I put Ram Air on my TA I picked up 2 tenths and 2mph in the 1/4. They are the same thing though basiclly. Just the TA looks better.

I say the camaro. Is lighter from what I always hear. My Z with me and everything in it. Raceweight is 3500lbs. That is a fully loaded car P/W PDL PWR seat. I weigh 175 lbs so figure 3325lbs for the car. That is pretty light for no weight reductions. The T/A always has all those extra creature comforts. Like these guys said its a drivers race anyways.

The SS hood is functional too. The efficiency of the 2 is arguable at best.
