Exhaust system for 450 rwhp
I'm currently putting together a built 347 for my car and I think I need to upgrade my exhaust system. I currently have the Dynatech headers with their 2.5" y pipe into some 3" pipe through a 3" maganflow and dumped. I think this setup maybe restrictive once I get the new motor together. My new setup I'm looking at building would be a 3" y pipe to 3to4 flowmaster merge connector into 4" pipe with like a 4" dynatech muffler dumped. I really don't have room for true duals because I have a tunnel mount torque arm. Any other ideas?
Thanks
Scott

a single 3" exhaust is capable of flowing alot more than some people think. i only lost 6 rw through my hooker catback v/s open cutout. some are more restrictive than others but i've heard the magnaflow flows pretty well also.

"Definately ditch your y pipe."
He can't, as he stated above. Unless you mean ditch the current one for another one. I'm running 2.5" y-pipe to 3.5" i-pipe and 3.5" catback, you may have difficulty getting a 4" over the axle as it's already tight on mine. Unless you plan on a PHR relocation kit.

I pretty sure 3" y to 4" is the way I'm gonna go. I've got a mig welder so I'm gonna fab it up myself shouldn't be too hard. I'll post some pictures up once it gets done. I'm also looking at sectioning out a part of the passenger side floor board so I can fit the muffler in and dump it before the rear axle.
