Default Issue w/ plugs after cam swap..

Okay.. so we just did a cam swap on my WS6.. It took a bit to get it running on the first start up but thats normal. I was driving it home and it felt like it had a pretty good miss in the low rpms and smoothed out around 3500 or so. I figured i had a loose plug wire so i got home and the next day i checked everything and put some dielectric grease on the connections hoping that would help.. Well it didnt. On the second test drive i jumped on it and it seemed to run better (no miss) for a while, but when i let it idle for a while it would miss again. This is all before the tune... So i guess im asking are the plugs done for? Will they need to be replaced since they have been fouled once? If the car smoothes out it would make me think the plugs are okay???? Also what would be a good plug to replace it w/, if needed. and its a n/a 346 cam only. TIA

i think it is a plug maybe cracked lightly . plugs are very delicate and if you hahve nnot checked them yet that would be the best bet . a bad plug does not always throw a ses light .

Humm... it doesnt make sense tho. I didnt touch them in the cam swap.. All i did was disconnect the plug wires. If a plug was cracked i would think i would lose more power in the higher rpms, correct?

This is the only logical explanation. I don't see how you could not have hit them getting those headers up in there.

Who said i swapped headers?? I said i did a cam swap.. I swapped plugs when i did headers over a year ago and everything has been fine.

Im guessing i just need a tune.. ill swap plugs and trailer it to the tuner and hope all is okay.

It has a tune for longtubes and intake... and its in speed density. No maf or O2's.

Well I'm not quite sure how I missed this was after a cam install

Anyways, I would definately get a tune and see what that does.

change the plugs, then tune, dont get on it to much either as the SD tune will not adjust AT ALL for the cam . it needs to be tuned with that big of cam no question. if possible bring it to the tuner and swap the plugs after you get there. usally doesnt take to long

I didnt have to swap my plugs... it was not the plugs fouling that caused the misfire...may or may not be in your case...
