Default Prothane Motor Mounts question

Just wanted to know if it would be a good idea to go with these when i have my American Racing headers installed? I have read through the search results and it seems like it transfers the shake of the engine to the chassis. How bad is this shake at idle? Dont really think i want to put up with it but i also dont want the exhaust work banging around either. Any input would be great. Thanks!

If anything it should tighten up the engine shaking and transfer it to the whole car. Example: lumpy cam with stock motor mounts = engine bouncing around under hood. Poly mounts are stiffer = car bouncing around with lumpy cam.

To be honest my car doesnt shake too badly at idle. A little more than before but nothing intolerable. Also having them put in when the headers are out would be the best time to do those mounts.

Do you need to replace the tranny mount as well when you change the motor mounts?

I did and would replace the tranny mount to but I dont know if you have to but it makes it a little easier I would think on the motor mounts and isnt very expensive or hard.

How bad is the shake if you replace both mounts? I just dont want the car to be shaking really hard. LOL. No cam here though so i am sure that cuts down a good bit.

Mine shook a little at first but after a few thousand miles it goes almost all away or less, nothing intolerable. I dont even hardly feel it now because they will loosen up.

they are a nice mod and best done when you got the headers out. I say do it. I would get an extra set of clamshells and have them ready to go rather than paying a shop to do it

Where are you? I'm sure someone lives near you who would be willing to show you their car.

I put Spohn solid mounts in mine while i'm doing H/C/I install...but its not a DD and i can put up with it, i think it will be cool. everybody i've heard of with solids likes them. i think its just personal preference.

With your mods, it shouldn't feel too different. You'll be fine, I love mine.

It's a BIATCH to install these though.
