LS2 or LS6 INTAKE ON 408
I'm getting ready to install my 408 into my T/A and I'm 50/50 on which intake combo do I use. I have a LS6 intake with a unported stock t/b and a LS2 intake with 46lb Racetronixs ls2 style inj. and a TPIS 90 mm t/b. I know that a LS6 intake will make more power on a 346 ci motor but I wonder if the LS2 intake will allow the 408 to breath easier with the 90mm opening. I currently have a brand new Harris Speedworks wet 90mm wet nitrous plate for the LS2 intake, so I'm leaning towards the LS2 intake. I'm not looking at any aftermarket intakes at this time, so please let me know why you would use any of the above intakes.

The issues w/the LS2 are not just with the casting flaws....but the runners leak in between each other due to the vibration weld used in production. The porting makes a great improvment & the manifold will be great in a FI application, but the FAST 92 will be by far the best for a N/A spray application. Also, as good as the LS6 is, the smaller sized snout will be to restrictive to have a large enough throttle body for those cubes to breath

Does anyone have some stats they can post up to back these claims of the ls2 port job being worth it?I am also at the deciding stage myself of what would be better for a 408.

Contrary to your belief, Tony Mamo thinks otherwise and have done some tests to prove that a ported LS2 will not out flow an out of the box FAST 90.
