Gutted stock cats ... Retuning needed?

I gutted out the stock cats. I have LS1-edit and turned off the rear O2 sensor code. Do I need to retune the motor? Also, what is involved in doing away with the 2nd air injection into the exhaust?

it will run rich
and you will smell alot more fumes since the cats arent burning it off
