I just purchased a water pump that is supposedly off an LS6 crate engine....it is the new style and I would like to verify that it is a GM part (there are no 8-digit part numbers on the housing itself), so if someone could post pics of a newer style (LS2) water pump, I'd appreciate it!

What are the advantages of this pump over the old one?

From the link:

"A running change with LS1 engines, the LS2 features a revamped water pump that is sealed better to prevent leaking."

Also, if you go to this style you need the LS2 style thermo too.
