Question Pulley

I would like to get some recomendations on what underdrive crank pulley to buy, and can you replace just the pulley or do you have to replace the dampner as well. Any input would be great, thanks!

I bought a SLP unit, pretty beefy, steel, all one peice. there is a SFI # etched on it. BUT from my understanding Powerbond is the same pulley but cheaper. You do need different accessory belts. Thunderracing has them and they fit perfect.

What I liked about SLP is the HIGH lip on the edge of the pulley, basically elimiates the need for a solid tensioner. As long as the tensioner is good, you shouldnt need to worry about belts.

The install isnt hard as long as you have the proper tools, DO NOT use the crank bolt or even a longer one.

Pulley is the dampener. I like March as it is fluid dampened design that really works well. You'll need a new crank bolt too

Hmmm, where can I get a crank bolt, and is the damper pressed on or just held on by the bolt???

Thunder Racing for the Bolt, I used ARP

Its pressed fitted and then held in place w/ bolt. I have seen pulleys come off when the bolt came out.

Oh yea, you need a puller. The stock bolt will need to come off with a big *** breaket bar 1/2" and 2 people then hit it with a impact gun, The puller will need a long bolt to get the pulley completely off and a socket, deeper the better that will allow the bolt to ride on it but sit on the crank snout.
