Default least loud catback/muffler in your opinion?

I'm going to daily drive the WS6 i just got for at least the summer. car has a built motor and headers/full exhaust. the catback is a stock catback but with a flowmaster muffler in it, not sure how many options there are for flowmaster mufflers that are two inlet and one outlet like that so not sure if there is a less noisy one compared to this one.

car is a bit loud for cold start ups at 7 am to leave for work. i could put a stock muffler in it since it has a cutout after the Y pipe but i wouldn't mind a bit of noise from the catback.

what would you do to quiet it down?

I wish they still made the dual/dual, that was the ****..

Borla with the cutout plate blocked off is high flowing and pretty quiet....plus you can adjust the openings in the cutout plate to suit "what's loud".

Borla was my trick back in college when the camaro was my only car, not a bad idea.
Just would have to see what those are going for these days, might be more money than I'd want to spend on this thing lol.

I had a magnaflow system put on my last z28 and when the shop fired it up inside the shop I couldnt even hear it running so I told them to switch it to a flowmaster b/c obviously I wanted it louder. My vote goes for magnaflow for just idle sound. I currently have Corsa and its only a little loud when you very first fire it up but once idling its super quiet and I deleted the cats and have pacesetter LT's and ORY but IMO corsa is pricey.

Don't forget it'll take a week or three to break in and be as loud as it's going to get. I have a full 3' hooker w/ lts and ORY. Even w/o the cats it's not loud execpt w0t. The hooker aerochamber muffler does a great job keeping the drone down and it sounds sexy as all hell

Hooker and ORY are quiet until you put a cam in it, then its pretty loud. With the stock cam its almost as quiet as it was stock, but the cam really made mine loud.

See about a Dynomax muffler on there Sean.
They are pretty quiet, even with a 224 cam & ported heads.

I got a borla, and with the closed plate, it sounds about like stock. with no plate it's loud as hell.

HOOKER, magnaflow, stock muffler

I loved my old Hooker catback with LT's - it is really smooth and deep and doesn't get wild or loud until you open her up. I think it is just slightly louder than the stock muffler yet the flow is outstanding.

quietest to loudest catbacks from my experience:
Stock
Stock SS
Dual Dual
2OTL
Magnaflow
Hooker
Corsa
B&B
LM1

Borla falls even with Magnaflow to the loudest, depending on your adjustment.
What headers you have affects it too. Corsa drops down a notch or two off stock manifolds.

Hooker has a muffler that's size to the stock pipes. Weld it up and go. Or you can use the 3"/2.5" version with a little more work.

I hope they aren't refering to TDs, because that is not the answer if you want your car to be quiet.

dual/dual is a system that slp made. it was almost as quiet as a stock system. they quit making it and now it is just a legend you hear whispers about.

Sean, I've tried almost every catback on the market. For what you're looking for i'd suggest the following.

Hooker Aerochamber - My personal fav
Magnaflow - Flows excellent, no drone while cruising
SLP Dual/Dual - The most quiet. still flows excellent for being a stock system
