Default SLP Loudmouth, worth the money?

I have a 2000 SS with a flowmaster catback. I just installed the pacesetter LT's and O/R Y-PIPE. Although there are noticable gains, the flow doesn't seem to be optimal with the flowmaster. It sounds great at idle but when driving, it sounds like ****. Is there anyone that has had the flowmaster and switched up to something else that made a night and day difference? I'm open to any exhaust suggestions, especially if you had the flowmaster system before. Thanks

Pretty much any catback is better than yours now. Loudmouth, Hooker, Magnaflow, whatever floats your boat. All will make more power.

I would say magnaflow since you have LT's and ORY. its cheap, stainless, and sounds good. LM1 with ORY and LT's will be way loud!!

LM1 with ORY and LTs will be extremely loud, and have will have a good bit of droning while cruising. If your on a budget the magnaflows will sound pretty good, or if you want to spend the money Corsa.

Hooker gets my vote. I had a Hooker on my LT1 camaro a few years ago and I had a flowmaster on the T/A for a bit and recently switched back to Hooker. The sounds is great at idle, normal acceloration, and WOT in my opinion. Plus for the money you can't beat it!

I would just vote for looking for what you can find for cheap in the for sale section of this forum. Tons of this stuff goes through there every week for great deals.

Loudmouth is about as loud as chopping your muffler off. With headers and no cats, I'd go with a Magnaflow. Good flowing exhaust, and will quiet it down to a reasonable level.

If you want to be obnioxous, just go to an exhaust shop and have them cut your muffler out and weld in a piece of pipe. Costs less than $50, and you can then decide if its too damn loud.

Nice video, reminds me of my test drive when I bought my SS in Iowa. I like the sound of the Hooker and the Magnaflow. My flowmaster seems to choke up at 4k-5k rpms. Its seems like the exhaust can't get out as fast as its getting to the muffler. I don't know if thats accurate but it has that feeling when driving.

LM is too expensive for what you get. I had one before LTs, and when I put them on I made sure I used a catted Y. I tried all kinds of stuff to change the sound, like making it a borlamouth, but the only way I fixed it was by selling the catted Y and LM for an ORY and hooker. Much better and much cheaper. check out the review in my sig.

i have a magnaflow c/b w/ a SLP-Y-pipe. it gives me a nice rumble while crusing and a boner @ WOT. lol. Your best bet is to get a nice sounding exhaust with a e-cutout if you want loud; that way you can have the best of both worlds. Lets face it; you don't want "*** out loud" 24/7, it WILL get old, i don't care who u r. Esp driving home @ 3am from the club/bar; i don't think you want ur head pounding from the exhaust note, or you want to draw the attention of "Officer Wiggim". Just my $.02

yeah get a cutout for when you want to go all out, and for the normal days magnaflow does have a good rumble at both cruise speed and WOT.

True duals dumped before the axle. Nothing sounds better.
