Default Cutouts on collectors vs. Cutout on y-pipe

Wanted to get a few opinions on what I should do as far as cutouts. Are cutouts on the collectors going to be overkill or exactly what I need? I just want to make sure I am not leaving anything on the table.

IMO Stick one 3 inch under the rear passenger seat and you will be set. Simple easy and not going to make you deaf but at the same time will sound great.

Not really doing it for the sound. I just want to know if the car will make significantly more power with dual cutouts as opposed to just one on the Y. I doubt it will, but I thought that someone might have a definitive answer for me.

i cant see 2 making a huge difference but i dont think it would hurt either. even with the bigger cubes one should be plenty. it would just make your car loud as hell putting them at the colectors.

Your power goals will dictate which one you should go with. I myself don't know where 2 cutouts would be preferred over just one. I have a single 3” cutout in the I pipe (which is adequate IMO for the power I want to make) and have hopes of mid 400 hp at the wheels one day. Another option is a larger I pipe (3.5 or even 4") into the same diameter cutout unlike the standard 3" ID many use when they go the single route.

I did dual cutouts and gained 15 horse on a back to back dyno run on a chassis dyno. One thing I did have though was 427 C.I.D.

My exhaust setup will be ARH 1 7/8'' longtubes into the ARH 3'' Y-Pipe. Power goals are a bit more lofty than you guys are probably expecting. The car is a 408 and on motor I'd like to see 520+ and on the bottle I'd like to see 800+. Hittin it with a progressive 300 shot, direct port. Maybe this setup would warrant dual cutouts?

A 3" Y pipe will choke 800 hp so there would be something to gain with dual cutouts after the collectors.

I had a Y made with the dual cutouts right after the headers, going back to the Flowmaster 2 into 1. I love the sound, but the ground clearance sucks, and everyone can see what you have, so it's not that stealthy..

I've got something else in mind though...

I'll probably sell the Y-pipe I had made, they can be adapted to any header, but would be a direct bolt in for the Eldebrock LT.
