Default How much hp out of N/A LS!?

I was just wondering how much power you can get out of a N/A LS1 without rebuilding the block.

a friend of mine in Vegas got just over 600 naturally aspirated at the wheels. he blew it up, then swapped in an LQ9 block.

How do you get that much? I've seen people with cam heads 90/90 and olny have like 460 to the wheels. I mean what else can you do? Injectors. MAF?

I think rpm needs to be a factor in considering the life of a stock bottom end.

All the bolt on's, good tune, some nice 11* 215 heads (or worked over 205's), .600+ lift cam, ported fast, 11.1+ CR, flycut pistons and a M6 . 500rwhp is fairly attainable at 6800 rpms. You still need to change those valve springs every 15-20k though.

Shops like Vengeance builds em' all the time. Anything with good drivability and 450rwhp, your doing something right.

Once your exceed 500 rwhp, its only a matter of time before it lets go. RPM is definitly a factor. Also how the power is produced is another be it N/A, FI, or n2o.

A good builder can get you about 1.44rwhp for every cubic inch N/A on pump gas, some do better!

If you keep the rpms under 7k and you are making 500 hp N/A I am willing to bet the motor would last longer than say in an FI application, once you exceed 500 FI the added cylinder pressures typically cause havoc on the piston ringlands after a good 25+k miles or so depending on how hard you drive it.

A solid 450 rwhp N/A 346 should last quite a long time if you tune it right, change the oil and in general keep it well maintained.

I'm putting down 527 RWHP 603 ftlb with cam and 175 shot on a 72,000 stock heads and bottom end. Been spraying it for bout 3 years now.Good oil press. and no problems......knock on wood lol.

thats some nice power, but kratos2250 was looking for N/A numbers.

That magic 500 number can be made without sacrificing much in any aspect if done correctly. Look at Pat G's thread about his 500rwhp build. I imagine 550+ is possible with a solid roller setup. It would not be street friendly though lmao.

See sig. Some R&D work getting done on my car in May. My numbers in sig may be changing. As of right now I am at 490 rwhp 445 rwtq. That is with a very healthy g5x3 version II cam and out of the box afr 205's milled to 59 cc. All bolt ons including pully and ewp. Any questions feel free to pm. Christian has an ls6 block that did 511 rwh 455 rwtq but you asked for LS1's no power adders true N/A. I think 490 is close and the 445 rwtq is what impressed me. LG Motorsports did a wonderful jobs massaging every bit of power out of her. Stay tuned for an update in May. Results from some testing coming soon.

I don't know about 550+ rwhp but LG Motorsports did grease up a g5xx cam and shove it into a lil 346 and ended up making 530 rwhp 484 rwtq !!! I thought that was pretty wicked. Just barely streetable, but more at home on the track.
