loudmouth is way too loud!!
Just did a cam install. My car is so obnoxious loud now i am almost scared to drive it anywhere. What are some really quiet mufflers or catbacks i could be looking at to shut this thing up? When i say quiet, i mean quiet. When i get a new one i will get a cutout for the track and when i want it loud. Also, will getting a more restrictive muffler for about 85% of my driving affect my tune? I mean, i dont have to learn how to tune and use 2 different ones for the cutout and one for the regular do i? Car has a cam a little on the large side.

Hooker is quite and not restrictive, so you wouldn't have to worry about loss of power really..also is cheap
Magnaflow I heard isn't too loud either..until you get on it that is. lol
Those would be my suggestions for ya!

Dont know about magnaflow. My buddy has a hooker and it is pretty loud, not too bad i guess, i am thinking i want quieter. I am thinking about putting the stock muffler back on with different tips and an electric cut out. Loss of power wouldnt be a problem if i have an electric cut out right for when i want some real power. I want a really quiet car. It was too much for me after i did the lt's. After the cam, just way too much.

On my setup the magnaflow is still to loud. SLP dual/dual is going on it to try and quiet it down. I don't now of anything quieter than the dual/dual but it's a little hard to find since they quit making them.

youll be happy with magnaflow!! we all know u feel bout loudmouth.. for most just longtubes/ory/ and loudmouth is too loud.. but being cammed..i couldnt imagine. im cammed with magnaflow and it sounds goo. its pretty quiet around town, but has a nice smooth sound. youll like it. but for quiet, like already mentioned hooker or magnaflow will be your best bet.

what about tuning issues with a quieter more restrictive muffler? It wont affect the car, maybe create a too lean/rich condition will it? A friend told me that as long as i still run a maf it wont be an issue. I am thinking the stock muffler with different tips....

I just had headers and ypipe with a stock catback and then put on the LM1 and its too loud for me because I work nights and I don't want to wake people up, but if I had to do it all over again I would put a cut out and diff. tips.
now on yur tune I say no because your tuning your air/fuel and timeing right so if anything you will lose hp because its not free flowing exhaust, that is what I'm thinking

Thats what i am thinking/hoping. I did a search and see other cammed cars with the stock catback, longtubes, off road y, and an electric cutout. That is what i think i am gonna shoot for. I already have most of the pipe to do it including the muffler.

I'm going to be in the same boat as you guys real soon like this weekend, doing a top end kit on the 346. if it is going to be too loud then the stock **** going back on. But if i like it and its really loud i might keep it and shut the car off and coast to the driveway and nice cars guys.

k... I had the SLP Loudmouth... sounded great when I was stock
Then I got heads, cam, LT's, ORY... man was it just CRAZY LOUD!!!!
I ended up chopping off the rear section of my Loudmouth, while keeping the resonator in the I-Pipe and got a Magnaflow muffler put in the rear... 100x better!!!!!!!! The Magnaflow muffler has a straight through design, with little flow restriction... I'm betting I didn't even loose 5hp if any at all by putting the magnaflow on there... and the sound is SOOOOOOOO much better...
here's a few pics to explain what I did...
Cut the SLP rear section out...
Welded a magnaflow muffler in place...
