Default Maf Screen. Did I make a mistake?

I decided to take my screen out after I removed my intake for cleaning yesterday. After making it into a ball, it seems to take up a good deal of space. However I found out that people say that if you have a bend in your intake bellow, to leave it in. My intake has a 90* bend in it, and I removed my screen, am I going to run into problems? So far upon driving it once, it seems perfect, if not better.

thats what ive read from an LS1 book. That fbody's are aloud to descreen because there is no angle, but for trucks and now i guess for cts-v, its a better idea to leave the screen since it has an angle, because the screen straightens out the air.... but if you say its fine, i wouldnt worry about it

You should be fine but I know its damn hard to tune a car with a descreend maf. That is what was told to me from Speed Inc. I had ported ends with no screen before they tuned it but also brought them my stock ones and thats what was on it when I picked it up.

I didn't have any problems tuning a descreened MAF car. I just recalibrated the MAF using the PIDs and my wideband and its all gravy.
