Default LS1 Meziere water pump pictures *56k warning*

Well we finally got the water pump in today. It weighs ~15 lbs as best I can tell with a crappy scale. It came with poor instructions on a single piece of paper with no pictures from Meziere. It also came with a very simple piece of wire with an inline fuse and a waterproof connection for the water pump. A hypertech 160 thermostat was included from Thunder Racing as you have to yank the current one out of the housing and use the new thermostat on the pump on the other water side. Hopefully I will be installing this on this weekend and I will also be taking pictures along the way. I have a bunch of pictures below with the link to the larger picture underneath it.

First off thanks for the awesome pics and posting the instructions. Yes - take lots of pics and give us some better instructions.

I really like it where it states, "Cars with milled heads or blocks need to be cautious". Now who buying this product would have milled heads - Jeeez.

Yea, the instructions definately leave something to be desired. I am going to call Paul at TR in the morning to ask him a question or two to clarify Meziere's instructions.

Thanks for posting them...

Is that considered the polished version?

I do believe it is the polished version. If it isn't, I would love to see that one.

No that's not the polished version, it's the "natural" version. The polished one will be sweet.

I should have mine tomorrow. Or at least thats what the UPS web site is saying.

It sure would have been good to know prior to the purchase the "people with milled heads should be cautious". This is a little frustrating. I wonder what the issues will be? Any ideas?

The only issue will be with the intake manifold clearance that we talked about on the phone and the fix will be very easy with a file. We tested the pump on a car with TEA heads milled .015 and there were no issues other then filing the TB linkage a bit like the instructions say. You should be fine and if not like I said the fix will be easy.

Glad someone asked about the polished version, the early pics showed a polished pump and it does look sshweeet.

Nic - nice color choice on the Z, not many of us running around with Monterey Maroon.

thanks for the clarification and the phone call. I was just a bit confused as to what was going to need the filing.

Guys, I would like to hear what else you would like added to the instructions. The installation is pretty straight forward. Because of the range of cars, engines and years, I felt I would keep it simple. As far as pictures are concerned almost every installed picture we have has a certain companies logo on the engines, some how I have a feeling the other vendors would be a little upset. When one of you guys put on on a car that shows no other company names, I would love to use your pics.... Thanks Jay

Everything seems pretty basic (mounting and wiring), however theres always that initial unknown about things until someone takes really good pictures (like JMX @ ls1howto.com) and puts good instructions to them.

Here are a few of my concerns :
- Milled heads @ .030
- Be Cool Radiator (much larger than stock)

This would be a user-friendly install if it didnt require shaving down the throttle linkage for milled heads (ouch) and drilling of the thermostat flange (where do we drill the holes anyways; template ?).

Anyways my .02
