Arrow LS1 Fuel rail mystery hose...help!

I bought an 00' WS6 and the previous owner was running Nitrous, evidant by the nozzle in the air intake line and a hose comming off front of the drivers side fuel rail. At the end of the hose is (I'm assuming) a servo for the nitrous set-up he had. It's a cylindrical thing the size of a pill bottle and has that hose, two electric wires, and a threaded nipple. So the Question is, how do I reverse what he'd done? Where's that hose connect to? Thanks for any help! Swat

Thumbs up

Here's just a pic from the front.

Here's the engine bay. I'm holding the hose.

The nitrous servo??

Evidance of nitrous use. See the nozzles where my hand is.

I'm going to say,.. and let me know if I'm way off here..

Unscrew the hose on the schrader valve and find a cap for it. Toss hose in trash.
Buy yourself a new stock or smooth bellows.

done and done.

Full-Force is right, you need a schrader valve to screw back into the rail, and the a cap that goes over it. You can get a schrader valve and and the tool needed to screw it back in at any autoparts store. Far as the cap goes i don't know where your going to get one of those maybe a junkyard or something. Then get a new bellow, you can use the Fernco style bellow which is like 10bucks at home depot (See stickey At top of Section) or you can buy a stock bellow (i have one that i don't need pm if your interested), and you will be good to go.

Oooh, I was close.
Haven't done much on fuel systems yet. Didn't think they would have pulled the valve itself, just attached the hose on the end.

D- for me.

so yeah, do what they said.

I would go to the dealer and see how much they want for the valve and cap...The valve has to be correct for that application.

The dealer probably won't haveon unless you buy the entire fuel rail. You could stop buy a salvage yard and pick one up. GM has used the same style fitting on the fuel rail for the last 15 years or so on all the V6 and V8 engines. You would just need a schrader valve tool to get it out.

The car looks sharp, but the rigged job on the nitrous nozzel install and the hose which probably isn't even rated for fuel makes me wonder how hard it's been beat on and for how long

The car was beat on pretty badly, but it seems the Transmission and rear-end have taken the beating...well, along with the bumpers. The rear wheel wells are covered with tire rubber even! I've had the Trans rebuilt and I'll be replacing the rear-end when I get the $$. I'm doing my own body work as I have time. Once I saw the NOS stuff I had my mechanic check out the engine. Compression is good, doesn't burn oil or coolant and there aren't any 'ticks' or knocks. LS1 = one durable-*** engine!

So anyway, I copy I need a Schrader valve and cap and a Schrader valve tool. And scrap that hose. I'll probably just use silicone on the bellows as a temp fix until I can buy a smooth one.

Thanks everyone for your help. Swat

I have never seen a more ghetto rigged fuel line in my life. Why would people do that other than laziness? I may have a couple of this shrader valves laying around. Ill see what I can come up with.

BTW, I know you didnt do that the previous owner did so no offense.

GM P/N 25532663 $6.06 for the valve
GM P/N 25532662 $8.47 for the cap
Both are readily available at any dealership

No. Wait. Run the line to the back of the car and put a lighter up under the bumper. No more tail-gaters.

Or just buy a nicer nitrous kit to replace it.

DEFINATELY no offense taken! I even said he was a FU**IN MORON!

Let me know if you have any parts and are willing to part with em. The dealerships around here are full of morons. A dealer trying to sell me a Sunfire pointed at the dual exhaust tips and said 'look, it even has dual carbs!' I won't buy parts from a dealership like that!

And one more thing! Sorry folks, but you won't see NOS on this car for a LONG time! I plan to get the most power out of a pump-gas air-only (yes, forced induction, tho) before I have to look for that last little bit and use NOS. NOS is a great power-adder, but shows nothing for the power of the motor. I WANT to be able to run guys down on pure motor muscle. It's a good idea to put a better NOS system on, but it's just not what I want. Thanks everyone! Swat

The valve is the exact same schrader valve used in the valve stems of your tires. You can go to a tire shop and just ask for a valve and they shouldn't charge your anything for it.

You mean the inner piece that unscrews from the valve stem? If so, I might have a couple of those around... Swat
