Default Dipstick Alternative??

I currently don't have a dipstick installed on my engine and before i take the time to install one, i was curious if anyone out there has been bored enough to design an alternative-type dipstick. Maybe something that has a gauge on it so you can read it instantly (instead of having to take the time to pull out the dipstick, wipe it off, put it back in, pull it back out again, squint your eyes so you can read the tiny lines, repeat the process 3 times to make sure it was correct, then change your shirt because you still managed to get oil on you)?

I did a quick search, and didn't find anything. I'm kind of looking for something like in the sketch i made below (yeah, i was bored). If its already been done, can you please point me in the right direction. Thanks guys

Good idea, really. I think most enthusiast wouldnt trust it though and would check it the old fashioned way anyway.

They make dipstick tubes out of stainless steel tubing.

good idea, but would you really want to have water able to get into your oil if the seal were to break?

Oh yeah, i didn't even think about the water in the engine issue. That definitely would put a damper on it.
