Default Wiring Cutout Switch (Carling Tech.)?

I have an e-cutout from QTP, the maker of the switch is Carling Technologies...

I ran this cutout for a while and then had the switch start doing wierd stuff where it would blow the in line fuse right when I tried to turn the cutout. So I got frustrated and got rid of it all together but this weekend I decided to put the cutout back on and wire the thing up... Right now we have the power to the pink TCS wire and the ground on the black wire of the cig. lighter. We could get the cutout to open, but nothing happened when we went the opposite way...

I think the switch is either wired wrong or blown. Any suggestions/diagrams?

here are some pics of the switch....

Dude i dunno that's weird. I did my cutout a similar way, i used the cig lighter for the black wire like you did but i wired the pink one to one of the fuses in the fuse box on the side of the dash on the driver's side. Mine works like a charm if you wanna give that a shot... i'm sure you know this but just make sure you wired it to something that only has current when the car is on. That's all i can tell you for what it's worth.

I was thinking, since the convertible top switch will work for a cutout, wouldnt a window switch as well? those just seems easier to find

Never mind, the answer is no because the window switches are reverse polarity.
