Default 2000 A.I.R. removal

I finally pulled off my air system and I did find some good articles that showed how to do it for the 98-99's. However the 2000 has a valve up by the block where the others just have a T adapter. It is attached by a bracket and there are some wires to it. Anyone have some pictures or instructions how to get that thing off? I can't seem to get it out....

Was this the thread you used? If not maybe there is something in here that can help.

Here are the pics. Actually the problem is I can't figure out HOW to pull it off. Also what is safe to remove?

bummer. Is it safe to assume that the bolt/nut on the back is 10mm? OK where is the vacuum line that will need to be plugged?

There is a bolt on the back of the head holding the bracket on. A stubby 15mm gear wrench works good. You only have to loosen the bolt about 1 turn because the bracket is slotted and will lift off once the bolt is loosened.

There is a little vacuum line that should be left over after you take everything out. Just thread a screw into it to block it off. I believe there is a thread somewhere with a picture of it. Also, that bolt your talking about, that holds that bracket on, is a pain. It was behind the head and there was no room to get at it. I think that is the one you might be referring to.

Just pull it all off. There will be a small vacuum line to the back of the intake that you will need to plug. I just used a small screw that threaded into it and sealed it up.

If I'm swapping in an LS6 intake will I still need the vacuum line? Or to plug it?
