Headers are bolted on both side of your engine. they look like 4 separate metal tubes conecting into one (Colector). It is what gathers the exhaust out of your engines heads (Where the spark plugs go). The stock exhaust manifolds are rusty cast iron.

Im not that new thanks though for the info. Actually the dealer just called me back. Shes sending shots, find out in a sec. Also, this picture was posted because how low the y pipe is hanging. I know the stocker sits low on the LS1 cars but this one looked lower to me, less flat?

Re: Does this car have headers on it?
Also, the car is a 1LE car, i already figured out it once had SFC welded on, i can tell by the burns in the carpet. Who ever installed them let them get too hot and burned right through the carpet. The dealer already said there are weld marks below, but couldnt tell me about the headers. Perhaps the stock cat back was put back on as the stock shifter was. The shift boot is broken, and it has a manual fan switch but no routing ?? id say mr previous owner took some stuff off before trading in.

Used to have a bolt in rollbar by looking at the carpets burn mark placement, but then could be the SFC's! Hmmm, probably driven, and maintained very well, by a great old lady for groceries, and had the rollbar for safety reasons, kinda like the performace version of side impact beams right?

Looks to me like it might have been a performance car. Like posted above it has a rollbar. I dont think any 12 sec. car would put a roll bar in their car. Maybe it was sprayed?

"since it still has stock tips, I'm going to say no because most people don't spend $600+ on headers/header y-pipe and run it through the stock cat back...."
My '02 has the stock muffler and tips. It is internally stock and ran 11.82 NA. There is such a thing as an electric cuttout ya know? Some of us like to be sneaky.

Actually that fitting is more likely a high pressure compression fitting, looks like mine. I had my stock line cut at a hydraulic shop, and the extensions are made from a SS braided line. Another way to set up a line lock.
