Default cat. convertor question...

i cant get search to work...so my question is...does anyone have any pics or ideas of some "Dumby" cat convertor setups...i dont really want to just gut mine because i think its makes it pop and crack to much and just ruins the sound...and high flow convertors kill the sound IMO as well(personal experence, not just goin by word of mouth)...i was thinkin about gutting them and just running the exhuast pipe threw them...OR just gut them and weld the "shell" over the exhuast thats already on it...any ideas?
