Are 2 1/2 inch duals enough ?

Are 2 1/2 inch duals enough ? Is the 2 1/2 inch piping for a dual exhaust enough for up to 500 HP ? I think 3 would be too much. Not enough motor for that. What do you guys think ?

Re: Are 2 1/2 inch duals enough ? 3" off of headers, into an X, and out at 2.5" is enough for plenty of horsepower. That's what I am getting put on next week from LS1speed 
I think they said something about using that setup on a shop car that made some ungodly high hp like at least 5-600 rwhp so it should be just fine, and sound awsome

i got 3" all the way back....and i still noticed a difference at the track over the true duals and just headers with cats on....
