I'm untuned and seem to be running descent times so far.... I would get a tune but i'm waiting until i get my heads ported/cam installed. I figured I would save some $$$ doing it that way. If you have $$$ to blow get a tune.It will net u around 10-15hp, sometimes more....it all depends

I am going untuned right now. If you are not going to get a cam or anything in the near future, it would probably be beneficial.

thanks all for the replies, but no one has answered my question. First off I dont think this motor will get cammed, so the immediate tune is for sure. what i was asking is how much of a difference will adding an LS6 intake to the motor effect the tune? am i looking @ a DECENT increase over the stock LS1 intake? Is it worth the 300ish for the intake, 40 for coolant lines, and 20 for gaskets, also not including labor..so an extra say 500 for an inake? or is the stock LS1 intake fine in a tune?

The LS6 for the money is a great MOD! What are your other mods? A tune is never a bad deal, but if you got just go headers and exhuast I"ll see the tune will be minimal for gains.

Good luck!

well pretty much full bolt-on/full suspension, besides ewp and well..intake. no internal work. so..a tune would probably not benefit me that much? how much do you think I could possibly gain? hp wise as well as gas milage.

With my 02 T/A with SLP flow pac, Dynatech headers, w/ CATS and Corsa, I was running way lean, pulling 6 deg of timing. The car gained well and runs correct with a dyno tune.

With mods in sig I pulled 42rwhp/29rwtq out of a tune.

A tune is always worth it.

Untuned a LS6 intake is worth about 2/10's and a tune about 4...

I didn't see anything dramatic like that from the intake ... about .05 at the track and .5 mph. However, the overall driveability improved and the engine is more torquey in the mid-range. My fuel trims went way up WOT and didn't settle out until I installed the 28 lb. injectors. If you can get the injectors with the intake, take 'em.
