I called up Jeg's and ordered a 160 stat. When it arrived it said LS 04 and newer. Any idea what the Mr.Gasket number should be to fit my 02?

Also does the housing have a gasket or o-ring and is it reusable?

What a PITA. So it didn't fit! I did all of that to find out what they sent was not right. The # is 6367 and it doesn't clip in like the stock stat. What a PITA getting the stocker out. Whoever thought up that design need an *** kicking.

Well I would have to pay almost as much to ship it back as it costs. So they said they have a Hypertech housing with 160 for $50. Is that the only option or does a stock replacement clip-in stat exist? Where do you guys get yours and do you have a part number?

They don't make LS1 style water pumps anymore, so they might not make the LS1 style t stats. When my water pump took a **** I had to buy the new LS2 style pump and a new LS2 style 160 t stat.

Then I might as well keep this stat if possible and change the housing. Where can I buy it?

Yup, I got the Hypertech with the housing from JEGS for about $50. I went with the 180, but here's both:

o'reilly's sells a 160 stat for ls1's... can't remember the brand, though. i've been running it for over a year, and i think it was only about 28 bucks...
