Yes, you will smell the fumes more, in the car and on your clothes.

Mine is noticable with the windows down sitting still. But I also have cam/heads. My AFR at idle is 14.63, though it might actually be a little richer due to cam inefficiency at idle.

I have never had someone tell me I smell like gas after driving the car. Or else they also don't have cats and can't smell **** either

If you put longtubes on especially with no cats you're most likely runnnig really rich if it hasn't been tuned, so you'll smell it a lot more until you get the tune cleaned up

Yes you'll get some smell, mine smells even after the tune, but I'm gonna try to get them to clear that up.

I think this is all relative to cam size and proper tuning. I'm sorry, but everyone didn't just go around reeking of exhaust fumes all day prior to 1974. With a small cam and good tuning, there should be no fuel smell. Toss in a big overlap cam, and the results could be lots of idle fuel smell.

It doesn't smell bad at all. I had lt's dumped duals and no cats and it wasn't bad at all. But now that i have a cam it stinks prettyy bad. But i love the smell. Its only strong at idle

My 2001 ZO6 with TPIS headers w/o cats had a bad exhaust smell mostly at idle. I had several cams that all needed 30-40* base idle timing. Now with the LG G5X3 114 LSA cam, I set the idle timing down to 16*, and the smell is almost gone. The bad exhaust oder is caused by nitrogen oxides (NOx) that are increased by a hotter combustion (over advanced spark timing)

This cam is the most driveable cam that has been installed so far! Prior cams were 234/228/.574/.572/113 LSA & 229/242/.631/.631/114 LSA. I also have LPE ported LS6 heads with 2.02/1.57 valves, milled to 62cc, and a Mamofied 90/90 intake.

smells terrible if your at an idle and your heater or ac is on. if the windows are down you will smell it and you will smell like it at a stop.
