How the heck does this thing come apart?
I have tried to take apart the large connector that snaps into the firewall below the brake booster. I don;t want to screw it up, so I have not forced anything. Anyone know how this thigs comes apart? It seems to have a bunch of sticky spooge on it.

I am assuming that you mean the electrical bulkhead connector. The spooge is a dialectric grease used for weatherproofing. I have not removed one on a fourth gen but I have done it on other cars. There should be a bolt on the inside of the vehicle on the other side of the bulkhead. After removing/loosening the bolt the connector should come right off.
Hope I am not too far off base..but if I am sorry...I tried anyway.

I think that there is a 7mm screw in the center which holds the two ends (inside car and outside car) together. The screw may be on the inside of the car if you can't find it on the outside firewall side.
