Curious as to what long tube headers to get???
I have grotts on my 99 SS and I think they are awesome but I know Roger the Dodger isn't around anymore. I am going to do some sweet mods to my 00 WS6 but I don't know which headers are best: Kooks vs QTP. I want a y-pipe, no cats, and a catback. The QTP headers do offer great ground clearance and since I want to drop the car 1 inch I will need as much as possible. I don't want true duals on the car because I like the exhaust tips out back and true duals all the way back is to expensive.

If you have the money, go for the QTP's with merge collectors into a 3.5" I-Pipe with a 3.5" QTEC cutout then merge back down to stock. Keep your stock catback (add some custom tips) and you'll be quiet until the QTEC is open.
With 3.5" I pipe, just make sure they tuck it and the cutout up tight.

QTP Headers are the best headers you can get for the LS1. One of my buddys has had Hooker and SLP and he still knew they werent the best so he got the QTP and they still put a smile on his face to this day. He then got the Dual QTEC Y-pipe with stock exhaust cause he got the heads and cam upgrade but now with stock muffler on there, the sound is the best sound I have ever come out of an LS1. (Catback, not true duals cause TRUE DUALS ROCK!)

If I remember correctly, I read before that the QTP design was based off of the Grotts, and almost identical. Don't quote me on this though
