Default Just had my Pacesetters installed.........

Well, power is up considerably, but, the exhaust note now sounds like my pickup with glass packs back in high school...

Heres what they did :

From the coated LT's, they removed the cats, and then reused the stock flattend y-pipe, and then ran that into my Magnaflow catback.

I think I will need to make another appointment to get a custom off road Y made up.
Also, on a positive note, getting rid of my gutted cats reduced the interior resonance inside the car by like 80% or more. Also had the TR55's put in and MSD 8.5 wires at the same time. Car idles ALOT smoother now. Not sure if it was the plugs, or the more free flowing exhaust that did it.

Yea, thats what the plan is. What im wondering is if I should put a bullet somewhere before the muffler to get rid of the "glass pack" effect Im getting now ? Any opinions ?

The Magnaflow w/ORP should not have any rasp. My brother's T/A with FLPs, ORP and Magnaflow has no rasp.

I think the Magnaflow is a little on the loud side, I'd definitely go with a y pipe. I think the hooker would be great.

I have a similar setup with the Magnaflow, and I had tons of rasp. I put 2 CC exhaust inserts in the y-pipe and it sounds very clean now.

The CC exhaust inserts may be my only hope right now, but I am afraid of them restricting flow.

I am either going to buy a Hooker muffler and swap out the Magnaflow(that I just put in 2 weeks ago), or do the cc inserts.

What do you guys think ?

SLP dual-dual. I can't believe nobody has mentioned that yet. One of the best flowing catbacks, and sounds great with an offroad system. NO rasp at all.

Ive heard of a lot of people pullin a dynomax bullet(part #24222) in the i-pipe and eliminating A LOT of rasp...and the good thing about it, is that its free flowing and only $35

Yeah SLP dual-dual is a good setup with an off road system but you definitely need to get an off road Y.If you want something thats a little cheaper go with a bullet muffler.

I had rasp with my ORY setup and Magnaflow. I then installed cats and still didnt like the way it sounded. Then I went Dual/Dual and the car sounds just about perfect for my taste. Much quieter now too. You need to ditch that stock 2 1/4" Y pipe and get 2 1/2 mandrel bent with a good collector.

Sorry, I have since added a custom 3" mandrel bent offroad Y, and a bullet from the local muffler shop. All the bullet did was quiet it down a bit, but did not eliminate any rasp at all.
