The low down on the Macs.I had the macs on the car for a few months they got the job done, 20 rwhp in an auto with bolt-ons is respectable. But they didnt make the power where I thought they should and the sound was not there at all. The rasp was horrible, all of you hooker owners crying about rasp its nothing compared to those macs. I am glad they are off the car. Although through cats or a quiet muffler I bet it would sound good. Also they were a royal PITA to take out! that took up a lot of time, sheesh the install wasn't as bad. Not sure what happed either.

I am very impressed with the Hookers for sure. They SLID right in on the passenger side. And the driver side SLID right in after the two bolts above the oil filter. I was really amazed about the ease of the install. The ory-pipe too fit wonderfully. Just hangs a little low... but thats ok prokit drop will do that. Ill have pics of that soon. Once I took out the car I could really tell a difference. There was a noticeable change in the HP, even more so in the higher rpms. It seems to have more low end grunt too. I could tell that by part throttle accelerations in traffic. And I sill cant get over the sound, it sounds oh so good. The way GMMG should sound, through LTs not mids!!

So if you own Macs and thinking of changing to LTs do it. Im glad that I did. Ive got some side by side pics if anyone wants to see them. And some pics of the coated headers and the coated Y

I bought my car with them on it.... and it's the only part of the car left that i haven't touched.

I am going turbo eventually....but i am wondering if my macs are holding me back on my N/A times now?

They look great!! I am in the emission friendly state of California and from what I understand, almost any header is illegal. I'll keep wishin' those were mine.

I just switched from SLP lt's to hookers and I like them as well. I'll be putting heads on here shortly and have done some other mods so I wont have a fair hp comparison between the 2. Nice pics also.

Z-Rated, I also think that the GMMG w/LT's sounds bad azz! Now you need to hear that set up with a cam! Then you will really fall in love...sounds like a true muscle car! We need to meet up so I can show you what mine sounds like. Let me know.

Donate52- Take off the deal above the oil filter on the drivers side. it has two bolts, take it off and thats it. Well coil packs for sure just to make the headers bolts easier. And get a 10mm gear wrench!!!! it saved so much time

Santa is supposed to bring me some Hooker LT's. (even though I've been naughty SHE likes it that way!)
Anyhow, what kind of HP/ET reduction you think it gives you? Just curious since I'm heading down that path soon.

nice towel there in the pics bud and also you should see about getting a flowmaster y-collector. From the pics that merge doesn't look as efficient.

JHolmes JR not sure about track times, and I will dyno again to see the hp difference. I feel that there is one.

Brian, all in due time. I dont want to cut up that pretty looking y-pipe. It hangs really low so once i have to fix it ill do the collector.

Can you please post some sound clips. I've been looking for clips of a gmmg w/o cats. I'm installing my gmmg exhaust saturday and I want to know if I should gut my cats. TIA.

i think it is quicker now with the hookers but a butt o meter is probably based half on what I want it to be lol. But it does feel quicker if that means anything??

BigMac- ill try to get a weak video... my digital camera take take crappy movies but the sound is there.

boomcase- whatever, im sure that there is a difference. At the very least in sound. But it
does feel stronger?
