What is the deepest and meanest catback system sound for a stock LS1? Also I would like to hear some sound on the drive, you guys know that muscle sound as you drive 55-65 mph, as you past another car on the highway. I have stock cats, will replace old flat y-pipe w/ new y-pipe. In need for some answers. Maybe a few sound clips out there.

1. loudest meanest cat-backs are GMMG, Loud mouth, and Borla.
don't bother replacing the y-pipe just save for headers that come with a Y.

save the money on the catback and buy the q-tec electric cutout.you can open it a little or all the way. it's cheeper and will flow as good.

If you want to change catbacks IMHO you cant do better than Hooker. I had the LM and loved it until I gutted my cats. It was UGLY after that way to loud and rasp from hell I installed the Hooker and man this thing sounds like pure SEX, no rasp or drone. I cant wait to install LT's

if you plan on doing ALOT of mods i'd just get a cutout with the qtp opener, that way you can be quiet when needed and loud and fast the rest of the time but for just a good sound for a daily driver i'd go loud mouth, but get a bullit muffler when you get rid of your cats otherwise the rasp will kill ya

Another vote for Loudmouth or Dynomouth. The Dynomouth conists of just a dynomax bullet part #24222 in the i-pipe, its much deeper than the LM and less rasp/drone. GOt a good 15rwhp gain.
