Default Is it true that....

98099 fbodies will see an addtional 5 hp from a01-02 model because of the higher lift from the stock cam? I read this in a Dec99 issue of HPP on a 1999 TA. I haven't seen any other supporting evidence.

If you search, somewhere on here there is a stickey or thread that explains of all this and any other differences for those years.

Well since 01-02 had ls6 intake I'd seriously doubt it.

i was wondering this as well one day, the intake made up for the slightly smaller cam on 01 and 02 cars. so say you put an ls6 on the 98,99,00 one and with the same mods wouldnt the 98,99,00 car have more power? i dont know how much but it seems like it should?

I think the heads were better on the 01/02 cars.

So ultimately, I would suppose you'd see the most gains by throwing a 98/99 cam in an 01/02 car.

Cam had more lift on pre 01's, but the manifolds and intake were not as good.

I agree, there is a detailed thread on this somewhere giving the differences between years.
