Cool Need some help to modify my 2002 ZO6

Hello there,

My case is that i have a Red 2002 ZO6 with 16000 miles only. Its brand new with full bolt on's such as the below :
MTI Heads Stage 1 (LS1 Heads)
MS3 camshaft
Excedy stage 1 cluth with fly wheel
LG long tube headers and B&B catback
Original rear end 3.42
90mm FAST intake with TB
ASP Underdrive pulley but STILL not installed.
My car is running in the dyno 446hp @ the wheels.

What i am trying right now is that i wana make my car jumps into 480hp @ the wheels but with stock bottom. The car is already very fast and in the 700 meter race its a C6 ZO6 killer and i am intending to make it a monster in the streets with stock bottom.

Appreciate your advice....

well my advice would be to install that electric water pump, get the underdrive pulley installed as well. best bet to pick up some more ponies would be AFR heads or heads of your choice that fit your budget and have significant air flow compared to your heads *i dont know the numbers* and have a matched cam *preferably larger than the one you have* then port your 90mm FAST intake and throttle body, that should be enough to put you at 480 at the wheels or perhaps slightly higher. I would also recommend a walbro 255 fuel pump with slightly larger injectors, maybe 36-42 to get the proper fuel and air in there.

also if this isnt your daily driver and you are willing to put a mix of racing fuel and premium, you could have a better tune around 95-97 octane, that could wake the car up with the mix if it isn't your daily and willing to commit to it.

Get the underdrive pulley installed. Get/install an EWP. Then flycut those pistons and get you a set of ported trickflow heads milled to 59cc combustion chamber. That should get you at, or a little over, the 480 whp mark.

If not the n/a route then go Procharger. That will give you the number you want fairly easy.

I don't know what a 997 weighs but with 550 WHP you might be screwed with the stock bottom end. You can get up to around 500RWHP max which has been done on here a few times with nice heads and a big cam plus all other bolt-ons. If you really want to make him "eat your ****" I would pull the LS6 and drop in a 402-427 with nice heads and a big cam! So do you live in Bahrain or are you stationed over there?

I'm not sure on how much power can be gained from porting a fast intake, but you already have one, porting it might gain you some hp. Try searching around.

That ewp will only free up existing power. 15rwhp would be almost unheard of from that pump. It would probably do a little less than an under drive pulley would show on a dyno. Yes every little bit helps and it does add up rather quickly. That MS3 cam is slowing you down however. Big cam doesn't usually help out your go factor. If you care what this thing will run vs. having bragging rights for horsepower then pick up a cam that is going to lay down the tq. Not to mention 3.42's are not what you are going to want to run with a cam like that. Trust me I KNOW. Talk to Patrick G about cams that are mild duration and higher lift for the torque. That is what is gonna drive your vette.

I am just telling you what I know should suit your needs. But if it is lots of show horsepower that you want then put the TFS heads on and check the clearance on that MS3 and hope for the best. You dont want to have 480rwhp and 400rwtq though. You will have cam only cars sticking it to you if they are geared and cammed accordingly. I would say shoot for 480rwtq and the horsepower will follow appropriately.

Monster on the streets = Gears and Torque

Also, as far as tuning goes, check with PREDATOR Z to see where he got his done. He is in Dubai.

First of all choose what head mfg you are going to go with. You mentioned AFR, if thats who your going to use, talk to Tony Mamo from AFR to specify the remainder of your combination. ( He's a sponsone on this site Tele. 877-892-8844) He is an expert that can put together the required pieces that work together to get you to your 480 goal. Remember its not the individual pieces that make you fast, it the "combination" of matched pieces that work together.

Good Luck.

I wouldn't go with the AFR 225's either. If you're gonna go with AFR, I'd recommend the 205's. 225's work best with 408cid's and higher.
