getting LS6 intake from 02 car, what do i need?

Default getting LS6 intake from 02 car, what do i need?

As the title says, i'm going to be getting an ls6 intake off of an 02 car, i have a 2000 t/a, What am i going to need to install it/ what am i going to have to tweak. If it helps i have race headers so no egr/air.

i just did the install and since you don't have egr then you really don't need anything. maybe some new gaskets and something to grind down the ribs on the ls6 intake.

+1. reuse all gaskets etc. and grind down the ribs. or buy coolant block offs. but i got rid of the ribbs and have no issues. a lot of people break their OPS when doing the install. it may not be a bad idea to have one ahead of time just in case. and return it if you dont need it.

so if i get a coolant block off i dont need to grind the ribs down? And what's an OPS? excuse the ignorance.

I think OPS means Oil Pressure Sensor.

yea oil presure sensor, sorry. its a tall black plastic sensor behind the intake. if your very careful you should be fine.

i wouldn't worry about the oil pressure sending unit. I've just started working on cars, this one being my first so i am no expert at all, and i didn't break the OPS. It's right behind the intake, so when your pulling it off i lifted the intake up from the back out.


Also you don't need coolant crossover lines if you grind down the ribs underneath the LS6 i shaved all of them down here a link to someone else intake after they shaved them down.
