Default Removing MAC midlength headers

I'm trying to drop these MAC midlength headers off of my car and I'm completely lost. I've tried jacking the engine a bit, removing the coil pack bracket, and every position possible without any luck on either side. Any suggestions, I'm going crazy here. Thanks

Coil packs? Sounds like you're trying to take them out from the top... In which case I'd say... Take them out from the bottom .

Well loosening the coilpack bracket was really to get to the header bolts. I've been trying to pull them out from the bottom.

Last set I removed literally fell out. Some of the typical clearancing items for header installs are removal of the oil filter, removal of the pass side heat shields and disconnecting the steering shaft from the steering box.

i had to loosen up my motor mounts one side at a time and and then jack up the motor from the pan in order to get mine out. i guess not everyone has the same clearincing on there cars. i would say try that if you hadnt already.

I wouldnt recommend jacking the car from the oil pan...

And disconnecting the Steering shaft always did it for me , good to see you got it out though... Didnt like the Mac's ??

I just decided to go longtubes because of the general consensus that they are better and will probably be better when I get the cam and all.

had some more questions,
when do I put the new spark plugs on?
Also, what header gaskets should I use?

Put the spark plugs on after you get the headers in there and tightened...stick with the gm oem gaskets.
