Question Do Loudmouth 1 And Straight Pipe Sound The Same???

i was wondering if having just straight pipe (no muffler or resonator) would sound the same as loudmouth 1?

I believe it would depend on what mid pipe you went with. Straight pipes are exactly that - straight pipes. But with the loudmouth you can have many mid pipes which create different sounds/tones that may or may not have cats (which would quite it down).

Look on www.ls1sounds.com for clips, I don't think they have any with straight pipes, but I bet it sounds like a dump truck lol.

Question

ok ill giv u an example: say u hav stock manifolds and y-pipe, and hav slp loudmouth 1 catback exhaust. wat if u removed the loudmouth 1 shotgun resonator and just weld in straight pipe. would that sound the same or similar to the loudmouth 1 since its just a hollow resonator?

Yes, it would probably sound pretty similar in that situation.

i was wondering because i love the sound of LM1 but dont wanna spend the money and realized that LM1 resonator is just a larger section of hollow pipe. i was also wondering how just being a larger hollow section of pipe, how that would sound any different than just welding on 3 inch pipe wher the resonator would go mak it sound any different if it did sound different than pipe in its place?

if you want then just get a cutout installed and you can switch inbetween the two. They will have differences in tones, that is why it is called a resonator because it will chage the tone at certain rpms.
