I think so 2.5 3 gallons when it comes on usually, 16 gallon tank right? I normally put in 13 gallons when that light comes on so I'm assuming I have about 3 more unitl empty

i have no answer to your question, b/c i always fill my car up when it gets to 1/4 tank..

But for the 98-02, assuming the gas tank is the same size, how many gallons are our fuel tanks?

It's from Wikipedia but I think its right: Very few changes were made to the Camaro in 1999. Some new colors, including Hugger Orange, were added to the line. Fuel tanks were enlarged from 15.5 to 16.8 gallons, LS1 valve covers switched to a center-bolt style, and traction control became available on the V6 models.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fourth-...evrolet_Camaro

So it looks like 15.5 gallons pre 99 and 16.8 gallons 99 and after

Yeah, the '98 tanks are different, and a little smaller. Be kind to your fuel pumps, keep it above 1/4.

yup, that is why i tell everyone to never let the tank on ANY car get below 1/4 tank. the fuel pump is submersed in fuel and that is how it is kept cool

your fuel pump is in a bucket inside the tank. the bucket is filled with fuel from the jet pump. so no matter how low your tank is, the fuel pump is always submerged in fuel unless you obviously run the car completely dry and it dies.

You'll have enough to get to the nearest gas station.
