Default 160 T-Stat - Worse mileage?

I plan on getting a ported tb, cutout, ud pulley and a tune to top it all off. For several things, its strongly suggested to buy a 160 t-stat. From my experience with my last car, it seemed like there was a drop in mileage. Is that true or was I just imagining things?

I get 31mpg in my corvette with a 160 stat so I don't believe it can hurt milage. I guess I can't imagine any more than 31mpg

We cant debate this forever, bottom line if u make the engine run cooler u can pick up minimal horsepower. But your offset in gas mileage doesn't make it a good mod. And remember some people see an increase in MPG and every car responds differently to mods. Most see a decrease in MPG. Also some wishful thinking and bad math contributes.....
