Relax, take a deep breath and turn on the FX, Channel or whatever cable rerun station, and watch a few episodes of McGyver for confidence. Don't panic at the first hurdle. The install should be fairly easy.
1)Metric Gear Wrenches your best LS1 friend
2)Plug wire pullers, second best friend- plugs
3) Oil drain plug
4) Filter
5) Breather above fliter
6) possibly stearing linkage- I did w/PPCs and it was just easier-maybe not necessary
Are you going to weld or clamp the Header to Y to CatBack? If clamp then get some Black 02 safe permatex rtv to ensure sufficient seal.
Might as well change them plugs and wires while your already there

If you're doing them without a lift, good jackstands and plenty of height is another freind.

I put the car up on cinder blocks and had plenty of room. Take your time and it is easy. I think you will need to pull the Oil Diverter right above the filter and the steering linkage. Other than that it is pretty easy just time consuming.
