Default 2000 WS6 Eats Alternators - WTF?

I'm getting ready to replace my 3rd alternator making it my 4th one in less than a month. My last alternator only lasted less than 15 miles. Yes, they all work when I first put them in. But what the heck? WHY??? WHY is this happening? NEED HELP>>>>>PLEAAAAAAAAAASEEEEE

Pin 15 on RED PCM #225 Circuit = Alternator L Terminal

This is the wire from the PCM to the exciter wire on the alternator. I only have less than 1.5 volts. I assume it should be 12 volts. What makes the PCM trigger this on? Does anyone know?

Stupid question.

Checked your battery lately?

I've seen some jacked batteries do bad things to electrical systems.

If you are getting some weird exciter wire readings, you need to trace it back as far as you can and replace it if it is bad.

Additionally, leaking power steering pumps eat alternators as well (just something else to keep in mind).

That doesn't mean anything, I've bought new batteries that were bad to begin with and I've bought batteries that have died within the first few days of purchase.
