Default Head gasket problem...

So i pulled into my friends driveway to pick him up to go to the track. As i pull into his driveway my missfire light goes f'ing crazy!!! then my idle gets all fucked up, and im thinking great.... so i shut it down and coast into his driveway, call him tell him my car is hurting and to come outside. He comes outside we pop the hood and look for anything obvious and got nothing so we start it and clouds upon clouds of smoke come billowing out of the drivers side exhaust..... then bucket and buckets of water......

so here is my decision, i can have the motor just rebuilt to stock, or i can go ported LS6 heas with a nice mid-low 230s cam (basically a tsp package lol)

votes?

Did you hydrolock the moter or did you get it shut down before it did any damage. If its just a head gasket you could just replace the gasket's and call it a day or while you're in there put a H/C pacage in. If you have the money I would do the H/C. Also spend the $$ and get cometic head gaskets. They are metal and if the heads ever have to come off again you wont have any gasket materal to scrape off the heads and block.

GM MLS gaskets come off clean too and are a helluva lot cheaper than Cometic. It is just the older syle GM graphite gaskets that are a pita.

That sucks man. I would do the heads/cam. You may not remember me, but we raced in Tucson one night. Now you will be pulling even harder...good luck with your build.

Now is the time for a heads and cam swap. The GM MLS gaskets are the best replacement and are very cost effective. That is what I used on my head swap.

all depends on how much money you have..if you can afford all those upgrades, then go ahead.
