Default header question

Hey, everyone. I,m trying to decide which way to go for headers. Previously, I installed the LT pacesetters/TSP catted y-pipe combo matched up to my Hooker catback. Besides the usual y-pipe banging, I noticed a definite drop in low end torque - ( idle-3000 rpm's). I dont race the car, so this loss is not wanted for the street. BTW, the car was tuned after the header install. Would shorty headers possibly be the right compromise for my application (street only), and if I get them, do I need to replace the factory cats with aftermarket ones to make the shorties worthwhile?

I wouldnt waste my money on shorty headers. Take the stock cast ones off and port em.

Shorty headers don't gain much at all.

If you don't want to do longtubes just do the mac mids.
Pretty good headers.

mac mids are the way to go if LTs are out of the question! next best thing imo!
