Default does an ls2 intake work on ls1

Will a ls2 or ls3 intake fit on a 98-99 f-body? Is it worth doing if it does?

An LS2 intake will fit with a K-Tech bolt & o-ring kit. However, you'll have to make an adapter plate for the throttle body. You'll also have to bend the fuel rail just a bit in order to line up the bolt holes for mounting. Further, the LS2 intake must be ported in order to see improvements. Go with at least an 85mm TB if you do it.

the ls2 intakes have 90mm throttle bodies . it will bolt on to the heads but the injectors on it are different . ktech does make a kit to help with the marriage of the ls2 intake on our rides . might think about go ahead and getting some new aftermarket fuel rails .

didn't GMHP test the ls2 intake on an cammed ls1 years ago when the ls2 came out.

found out it LOST power!!

why go through all the trouble when an ls6 is proven, and the FAST is proven better than that.

You are right on.

Due to the sonic, or vibration weld process used the LS2 intake leaks badly between runners so even though it out flows the LS6, the LS6 makes more power.

Back to answering your question; Go into the dyno section & find the numbers generated from PORTED LS2 intakes. I have personally installed an LS2 intake on my LS1engine & it can be installed as was described. The tested LS2 intake that lost power was not ported. This discussion has been beat to death years ago & a search will reveal the information.

And although porting the LS2 will make power over a non ported LS2, it weakens the runner walls even more and thus results in more leakage.
