Default Have any of you have problems with this

Y-pipe for 02 SS
I was speaking to a friend who owns a 97 Z28 with the LT1 in it. We started talking about the mods that we did to our vehicles. I have an 2002 SS. When I mention that I was going to purchase the SLP Y-pipe, he kind of shook his head in disagreement. He stated that when he changed is Y-pipe to his car, 97 Z28, it gave him some problems such as his vehicle's computer acting up.

So I am wondering if I were to change my Y-pipe in my 2002 SS would I have a computer or any problem like he did? By the way the type of exhaust is the slp dual dual tips.

The only thing that might act up is the rear O2 sensor codes. And all that is gonna happen is a check engine light from the deletion of the cats.
Just get some O2 sims to correct the SES light.

If you are just changing the Y & it is done correctly you will not have any problems.
Maybe wait get L/T's & a Y- pipe!

Ditto on the no problems if it's done correctly.

You should have no problems. Just adjust it properly to avoid any contact w/car floor, driveshaft loops, etc. Any contact on acceleration w/anything under car against Y-pipe will give you knock retard and affect performance adversely. WJ.

BTW, LG Motorsports makes a much better quality Y than SLP. Larger collector and bigger diameter--2&3/4". I'm very pleased w/my LG piece. Fitment was perfect. WJ.
